banana spider




This is a "Golden Orb Weaver" spider, or, "Banana Spider." Brad and I found them on his dad's front porch so of course I had to photograph them. These are two different spiders. The two pics on top are the same female spider and the bottom pic is the male.

that is a st andrews spider. they are the ones with the cross like web and are known for that.....

banana spiders have a much more narrow body with mosaic-like pattern and red or orange spot on their undersides.

ya and banana spiders also have yellowish legs and black fuzzy hair on the bends of their legs. these are definitely st andrews cross spiders
